  1. I honestly love this commercial. It should be a necessity for everyone to see it, especially teenage girls. Everyone has their self-image issues and the media sure isn't helping by projecting these images of perfect women. This commercial really opens our eyes to how unrealistic those ideas of beauty that the media presents are.

  2. I like the bodacious babes on the Dove commercials. However, I honestly do not watch enough television or listen to enough radio, or read enough magazines to be impacted by the media's version of anything. I also don't care what them media projects as appropriate. I think people need to decide for themselves and take that responsibility. Most people have working brains, they should use them. :]

  3. dear anonymous, im glad you appreciate the bodacious babes of Dove commercials. Ever check out the one with the old ladies ;). anywho, i wanted to paint the picture that the media is all around you and you can't escape it no matter how hard you try. even something as simple as traveling you're dealing with ads: when you drive you see billboards and airports are full of advertisement posters.

you stated that, "most people have working brains, they should use them *smiley face*," but is it safe to say that the media may have too big of an impact to guide people to make their own decisions? is countering the media's output adjudicating to the fact the media has control and we want to rebel? please let me know how you feel on the subject. that goes for anyone reading this as well.

  4. You can escape anything with any amount of effort; this includes the media. Also, just because there are advertisements everywhere doesn't mean it will effect you. Some people do use the media as a guiding prinicple in making decisions and some people use it to know exactly what they don't want. But there are a vast amout of people who do not fall into these simple minded categories that cannot be ignored. :]
